Dongdaemun is a neighborhood that rarely slows down. Yet a short walk from DDP, beside the old Gwanghuimun Gate, Cofe de Palezze keeps its own pace. The front window folds open to the street, framed by mint curtains, and the café is easy to spot as you walk by.

Inside, raw meets warm. Bare concrete and exposed brick are softened by honey-toned wood, green plants and vintage speakers in the corner. Nothing is overdone. The coffee is clean and delicious, and it suits the room.

東大門は、なかなか足を止めない街です。けれどDDPから少し歩いた光熙門のそば、Cofe de Palezzeには別の時間が流れています。前面の窓は通りに向かって開き、ミントグリーンのカーテンに縁取られたその姿は、歩いていてもすぐに目に留まります。
注文は窓辺から始まります。手書きのフランス語のフローチャートが、カフェインの有無、ミルクの有無、マイルドか濃いめかを案内し、店に入る前から空気をつくっています。
店内では、ざらりとした素材と温もりが同居しています。むき出しのコンクリートとレンガの壁を、蜂蜜色の木や植物、隅のヴィンテージスピーカーがやわらかく包み、作り込みすぎない佇まいです。コーヒーはすっきりしていて美味しく、この空間によく似合います。
最後に心に残るのは窓の外の景色です。店内から眺めると、ガラスの向こうに光熙門と古い城壁が控え、街の真ん中にある静かな歴史の一場面のようです。東大門とDDPを巡る一日に、気軽に加えたい一軒です。

안으로 들어서면 거친 질감과 따뜻함이 함께 있습니다. 맨 콘크리트와 노출 벽돌 사이로 꿀빛 원목과 초록 식물, 구석의 빈티지 스피커가 온기를 더하고, 과하지 않은 담백한 분위기가 흐릅니다. 커피는 깔끔하고 맛있으며, 이 공간과 잘 어울립니다.
마지막으로 마음에 남는 건 창밖 풍경입니다. 안에서 내다보면 유리창 너머로 광희문과 오래된 성곽이 자리해, 도심 한가운데의 조용한 역사 한 장면처럼 느껴집니다. 동대문과 DDP를 둘러보는 하루에 가볍게 더하기 좋은 곳입니다.
