Thug Club Spring/Summer 2026, titled K-Dark Nostalgia, is a season rooted in the personal memories of Director Kwon Jiyool. The collection is inspired by menswear, the subject Director Kwon loved most as a child and continues to feel deeply connected to today. From elementary school through university, Director Kwon was not particularly interested in studying or gaming like many of his peers. Instead, he spent countless nights immersed in menswear, searching for clothes and collections with the same intensity others reserved for games. His curiosity was driven purely by fascination with clothing. The collection draws from early 2000s menswear archives, shaped by his emotional connection to that era. During that time, he was especially influenced by European and Japanese fashion, and designers from those scenes remain among his favorites today. Watching Paris runway shows online as a child felt overwhelming and powerful, as if he were witnessing a completely different world. The season also reflects on the contrast between past and present fashion environments. Today, trends circulate globally in real time through the internet, creating a more unified visual language. In contrast, accessing fashion in the past required effort, waiting until school ended, turning on a computer at home, and actively searching. That distance between desire and access allowed for more personal and diverse expressions of style. For Director Kwon, turning on the computer after school marked the beginning of his real world. Night after night, he searched for remarkable menswear pieces from around the globe, motivated solely by curiosity and love for the craft. This collection marks Director Kwon Jiyool’s first solo season. Approaching the project first and foremost as a menswear enthusiast, he sought to tell an intimate and honest story, a nostalgic reflection on a time when fashion felt distant, raw, and endlessly inspiring.
