Q: Please introduce yourself.
Hi, I’m Alicia Phelps(@aliciaphelps2112) from Madrid. I work as a Visual Merchandiser at Zara, and I’m passionate about the world of fashion and creating content around it. I often share content about my daily routines. I consider myself a highly creative person with lots of energy.

Q: What’s your first fashion memory — the moment you started caring about style?
I guess, like everyone else, I’ve always had that internal conflict of not really knowing where I stand between one style and another… The truth is, it’s never really bothered me. I’ve gone through different phases, styles, and interests within the fashion world.
Nowadays, I feel very connected to streetwear, although if you saw me, you’d probably think I’m quite an alternative girl, haha. I don’t like to classify myself within a specific style. I prefer to define it as my own.
What I remember the most is that, when I was little, I used to tear my tights and make dresses for my dolls, haha.

Q: When you’re putting together a look, do you dress to express or to experiment?
The truth is, I usually dress according to how I feel. This means that if one day I’m full of energy or feeling amazing, my outfit has to match that. But even on days when I’m feeling a bit low, my look will still be on point, because it helps boost my energy, haha.

Q: What’s one item you’ve kept wearing over the years, no matter what’s trending?
I’ve never worn anything just to follow a style. I’ve always told myself, “Do what you want and don’t care what people say.” But I do want people, when they see something, to think: “That only looks good on her.”

Q: Do you think your environment or your mood affects your style more?
Since I became independent and moved to the city (Madrid), nothing has limited me. I feel this has really opened me up to developing my own style and not letting anyone set boundaries for me, so right now I don’t feel influenced or restricted by anyone or anything.
On the other hand, if we go back two years, when I lived in a small town on the outskirts, I couldn’t say the same. People were much more closed-minded, and I always felt judged for what I wore—or didn’t wear—which meant my creativity and style could never fully shine.

Q: If your recent outfit had a soundtrack, what would it be?
It would 100% be Doja Cat’s “Woman” or Dua Lipa’s “Physical.”

Q: Do you know any Korean brands, or is there one you’ve been interested in?
I’ve never really delved deeply into the world of Korean fashion, to be honest, but one brand that caught my attention a while ago was Pushbutton, since it’s alternative and full of attitude.

Q: What’s something you’ve recently learned or realized about your personal style?
Nowadays, I’m still learning a lot and constantly discovering new things about my personal style, but I believe that, in the end, it’s all about carrying it with attitude and confidence.

Q: If someone described your fashion in three words, what do you think they’d say?
Creative, alternative, confident.
